Where in Spain are we located?
We are on the east coast of Spain on the Costa Azahar just north of Costa Blanca, between Valencia and Alicante. The house is just a three minute walk from the beautiful Spanish town of Rafelcofer and a five minute drive from the larger towns of Oliva and Gandia.
How do I get there?
There are regular flights to both Valencia (50min) and Alicante (75min) airports. You can avail of car hire at the airport or we can collect and return you with our own vehicle/s
What sort of insurance should I bring?
Your normal Holiday Insurance and also a European Health Card or similar.
What about bikes?
You can bring your own bike or we provide a selection of carbon road bikes.
What sort of clothing should I bring?
What you normally wear in the summer here at home, you may also bring arm/knee warmers, a gillet and a light rain jacket.
What if my partner does not cycle?
If your partner does not cycle, there are plenty of other activities to keep them busy while you cycle, it is an excellent area for walking with something to suit all levels of fitness, a number of local golf courses, shopping and we are only 10-15 minutes from a blue flag beach, along with a pool on site.
What is the weather like?
Usually the high teens to mid-twenties is normal from October to April. The summer months tend to be too hot for cycling especially mid-day however occasionally the temperatures can drop a few degrees and we experience rain from time to time.
What are the roads and traffic like?
The road surfaces are generally very good, with only light traffic. The local drivers are very courteous to cyclists.
How far is it to the beach?
It is only 10-15 mins by bike or a 5 min drive to the nearest blue flag beach.
What sort of terrain is it?
Cycling Heaven. We have mixed terrain with flat roads for hundreds of kilometres running parallel to the hills and mountains that will challenge the fittest of the climbers and the most fearless of the descenders.
